I got my copy of Appaloosa. I did see it at the movies when it came out and liked it ok. I have now watched it 5 times and I have to say IT'S GOOD. Have enjoyed it more each time. Even the town kids are dress from that time. Ed Harris has done a very good job with this movie. It's become one of my favorites. TJ

I saw it last weekend. Thought Harris and Mortenson were spot on, I like Irons, but he usually goes a little over the top for me. Zellwigger, well, I have only liked her in one movie (Whole Wide World, great look at Robert E. Howard as done by Vincent Denorfrio, if you are a fan of Conan the Barbarian, check out this look at his creator). While I totally bought her character and its development, I just did not like her in the role, just a personal thing I guess. My favorite character? The 8 Gauge!!!!!!

Mogorilla, have to agree the real star was the double barrel. He had it with him every where. Well almost, not in bed with him and his lady friend.

I actually like the original Appaloosa movie better, you know......the one with Marlon Brando? At least it was about a horse! But I will add this one to my library too.

l got another movie that was pretty entertaining as well. It's called Lone Rider.

I saw Lone Rider this past weekend. As far as costuming goes, it was great, but the story just seemed tired to me. The acting didn't do much for me either.

Maybe I'm just too picky.

I liked the original Appaloosa too. AMC ran it into the ground a few years ago, but I guess it's about time to pull it out and give it another view.

That old Appaloosa is good. He stuck with that horse through thick an thin. I remember what he went through when they tried to take it from him. Now I wanna see it again.

I've seen Marlon Brando is a lot of movies, but every time I see him I remember him on a late night show and he made a big deal over giving up his colt 45. Guess his anti views didn't take away from his acting. You just have to put up with it and most of the acters today. TJ

And that'll bring us full circle ta Ed Harris. Never thought I'd see him in a movie like Appaloosa, but damn he was good in it.

I also thought Harris was excellent in riders of the purple sage a few years back. As to his views, I figure everyone is entitled to an opinion, just don't push it on me.

Mogorilla, I also liked Riders of the Purple Sage. That was one of my favorite Zane Gray books. But my favorite all time western book is Nevada by Zane Gray. That's where I got my cowboy name Texas Jack. When Nevada left Forlorn River he became Texas Jack. I have the very first Riders of the Purple Sage movie, silent staring Tom Mix. I guess anti's or what ever as long as it's a good western I'll have to watch. TJ

Especially the final shoot out between Hitch & Bragg.

The shootout is pretty good, but its not going to be as good as ours will be at the National Shoot!!

I noticed that at the end of the credits, Appaloosa was filmed on the Ford ranch location in New Mexico, the town is the same as used on the new 3:10 to Yuma film.

I noticed that at the end of the movie during the commentary of the cast and crew, the armorer stated the eight gauge punt gun that Viggo Mortensin used was a new gun built on a 12 gauge receiver made to fire 12 gauge blanks.....they built two of them....now that gets me to thinking...I wonder if I could...............................................................yeah I probably could!
