MeGwetch Boys, I'm glad you like it. It was fun to do it and I hope NCOWS can make some money off the painting when they raffle it off at the convention next february. Maybe I'll get to see a copy of the shootist at the congress meeting next weekend since I haven't received mine as yet.

Got mine Sat., Great cover sorta elevates the appearance/status of the Shootist to other great mag. like that of Scurlock publications and others, I think the Shootist is a real diamond in the world of NCOWS. Thanks Bill.

I think the Shootist is a real diamond in the world of NCOWS.

I agree wholeheartedly  ;D
In case anyone missed it I'll repeat my reply on the other related post:

I'd be interested in learning exactly when some of you DO get delivery. While it would seem reasonable that they should radiate out equally from the point of mailing (Lincoln, NE) I''m not sure it actually works that way in real life.

Mine probably came on Saturday, 12 November -- it was in postbox when I arrived on Monday.

My name still misspelled but adress correct.

RCJ,

It is even more vowel sensitive -- my lineage is from the Son of Ol, NOT the other one, that was always sen. (Swedish - Norwegian joke about the difference between ----son and ----sen, requires knowledge of language to understand).

Got mine on Thursday, November 10.

George, I think the PO actually sends them out by Zip Code order, when and as they feel like it!

Howdy, all.

Since The Shootist is mailed at the presorted standard rate, (equivalent to what used to be called 3rd class) the Post Office can hold these for a short time until the delivery load is smaller.

If we (as in NCOWS) wanted to pay the premium price that is charged to Periodical mail (what used to be 2nd class which meant it carried the same delivery restrictions, ie: ASAP:  no waiting allowed, just like a 1st class letter) we could, but it'd be quite a bit more expensive.

The end result would be that our membership fees would HAVE to expand.

And no, just 'cause I'm a Postal Mail Carrier, I get no special treatment, free stamps, etc.  Still waiting for My copy to arrive!

Does your copy ever arrive looking "well thumbed?"

Arrived Monday here in eastern Iowa, just as the snow was blowing in from Colorado. Had a new code strip running vertically on the spine/left edge, must be another new bulk code, is that it S.H.B.? Anyway, it is a nice issue and the heavier paper stock seems to hold up better through the various machines and bins.
Best regards and good reading!
'Ol Gabe
