From what I read it does not seem to have as beneficial an effect as it does in quality US brass.

Part of the problem with the bras failing is the extreme amount of crimp applied to them, I don't know how the lee dies come out, but with the factory ammo, the bullet is seated well inside the case, and it is then crimped almost like a small bottle necked case, which the bullet has to straighten out when fired. Even with annealing, that's bound to shorten brass life a lot.

What I am trying, after some internet help, is to put a kind to partial crimp on the case mouth using the shoulder slope of .222 dies. If one is merely plinking, all you have to do is put enough slope to allow the case to enter the chamber mouth. If you are a keen GAF competitor and want to speed it up, I think more crimp is required.

I believe Russian target loads have less crimp than service issue loads that had that funny looking bottle-neck.

Were it me I'd buy it instantly. I love mine, which I shoot regularly in CAS (after I converted to SA). I have shot 32 S&W shorts, longs, and resized 32-20s in it with zero issues. They are very accurate and super cheap to feed.

With the 32-20 brass I had to thin the heads a bit. I've never worried about the gas seal part since the velocities are so low.
Service before self.
