Fellows – Though neither Maria and I bagged anything, here is a picture of her and I made on my wetplate set-up just before we went vintage hunting last Fall in south central Michigan. We hunted for a bit on state land adjoining a living history event where she and I set up as Victorian era sporting hunters.
Our wall tent in the background of above photograph is furnished early to mid 1880s, the shotguns are period to the era - of course we had BP shot shells, the period sporting outfits we made and are documented to the late 1870s per catalog illustrations in my case and a carte de visite in Maria’s.
Though we didn’t get any small game I thought I’d post the picture as a reminder of our 2010 vintage hunting experience. We’re planning on doing it again this Fall. Wish us luck!
