Howdy JD
It took about 4 hrs to do the fender.
I layed the pattern on the leather and carved the design and stamped the weave on the second fender last night in an hour and a half.

Practice may not make perfect in every case, but it sure makes the second time faster. ;)
Just because you CAN ride the hide off a horse, doesn't mean you should.

Those do look good. I like that herring bone basket stamp. It really adds to the design.

Nice video on those decorative cuts. That's so much more effective than the way most show it. Thanks for posting the link.

I use 13/15 saddle skirting. Lots of it has to be skived down to a feather edge.

Hey WC, I was just looking at your saddle in the picture of you and JD and his pard. You are moving right along and it is really looking good. Before I left the house I was trying to get a pattern for my seat and the fork cover put together. Wow, I think I may have to work on that a while. Want to make sure I have it exactly right before I start cutting leather.
Lost..... I ain't never been lost...... fearsome confused fer a month er two once... but I never been lost.

Got one of the rear jockeys done yesterday and the second just needs the deco cuts. I'll get on that in a bit.
