Mornin' not quit so cold here this mornin' it's 37.

well I'm gonna go get my P-monia and Flu shot one of these days soon.  My Dr. recomends it.  You get them you will get a mild form of the disease for which you get it for, how bad it is will vary with the individual.  Us old Pharts when together referance the different sizes of our smallpox Vac scars.

One thing my Doc says that makes sense to me about the flu shot, which is based on the strain/s they think will be worse this year, if you get that strain with out the shot it will be far worse.  So if you think the shot is bad, the flu would have been worse.  Of course this vac is only for what they guess as the worse strains this year, it won't prevent all strains.  He's convinced me to get them.  Anyway, my Doc is a stright talker, an ol farm kid and a hunter, so I trust him more than I would others, oh and of course he's a friend. ;D

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee, Tensleep.

that bear sure had some claws on him,
I was thinking the same thing.

Sorry I ain't been around.  Been in and out of work with days off and kids with half days and days off.  Plus mom was in the hospital for tests and has more today as they don't like her EKG results.  I have next week off so I'll say Happy Thanksgiving now as I'm not sure how much I'll log on next week.
I'll be praying fer her. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Stoney.

'Tis 20 and overcast. A few flakes coming down. High of 41.

Mornin' pards. Thanks for the coffee, Sleep. Fog this morning. It must be nice inland to pull it in on us.

I have next week off so I'll say Happy Thanksgiving now as I'm not sure how much I'll log on next week.
Happy Thanksgiving, pard. Enjoy the time with your family.

here's an article about the bear I found googling

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.animals.wildlife/browse_thread/thread/d1460b78dd61a163/2c32d65c61280297
That's really something, OT. Thanks.

here's an article about Arkansas Turkeys,  the fella in the article lives down south, across the river from us,  there's also a video along with the article, I haven't been able to get it to load for me, but it should show a little more about the farms and birds.

Another good read. Thanks.

Here's one too...It's a sad day for cold and flu medicene   http://www6.comcast.net/news/articles/national/2007/11/15/Confiscated.Whiskey/?cvqh=ht_whiskey
I had no idea people collected it, but it makes sense. After all, people collect wine and beer.

Jim Beam collectors everywhere.  Jack made special editions for years around Christmas time.  I've got a numbered (5) bottle that's better than 20 years old

I've seen some of those bottles. It just never hit home before. Some of those bottles are really interesting. My mother had a  spectacular Smirnoff vodka bottle when I was a kid.

I'z starting ta rethink my choice of weapons fer the morning. I'z thinkin' 'bout takin' the .45-70 roller and cross-stix out back and sit in a lawn chair. I'z got some 460gr spitzers loaded over BP. (Del, those are the ones I sent ya.) I'd rather use 405gr FNRPs, but the only ones I have are cast outta wheel weights. They don't fly the best over 100 yds. The ditch is at 300 yds. A doe within that I'll give it a try.

Sorry ta hear, Slim. Their loss.

Been ta Carolina ‘n got some goodies.  Buncha collards.  They had some pretty oysters but I’m sure I can get ‘em at the shops around the marinas cheaper.  Just I never go there.  Might hafta make a trip ta Dockside here soon.  Got some them belch-smoke-forever smoke bombs too.

I guess that work dept means just that work  :o

the county workers have been out here taking out trees with a trackhoe and pushing em up with a dozer all week,  they've almost got up to the house clearing the right of way so they can start getting the road ready to pave. they said it'd probably be spring or summer before the actual paving took place,

but it's sa much closer than it was.  ;D
