I'm in the process of aquiring the Davy Crockett series from Disney Movie Club. It should bring back a lot of early TV memories.

They have a collection of all the Roy Rogers items that were sold during that time in the Museum at Branson. I visited the Museum several times when it was in Victorville and a remember a small guitar among the items. I would assume that all those items made the trip from Victorville to Branson.

yeah... my dad is in the same boat as you are, except with a car... he bought her brand new back in 1969... now all he says is "who'd thought a 1969 Charger Super Bee Hemi would be worth that much now?!"  yeah... I'm kicking him, big time! LOL

right now, I'm looking at some vintage trumpets on ebay for restoration.  Got my Yamaha for now, but man, to have a classic horn from the 30's would be awesome.

Willie, I feel your Dad's pain. I had 3 cars at one time I wish I had back, a 56 Chevy BelAir 2drHt, a 58 Impala with a 348 tri-power and 3 spd., and a 66 Pontiac GTO.  Good luck with the horn restoration.

Was watchin’ Cheyenne this morning, and they played part of the two other shows that were part of  “The Cheyenne Show”. It was from Bronco Lane:

Bronco, Bronco, tearin' across the Texas plain.
Bronco, Bronco, Bronco Layne.

Worn down around the old panhandle,
Texas is where he grew to fame.
There ain't a horse that he can't handle,
that's how he got his name.

Bronco, Bronco, tearin' across the Texas plain.
Bronco, Bronco, Bronco Layne.

Next to a four square Texas twister,
You'd call a cyclone weak and mild,
You've never seen a twister, mister,
Till someone gets him riled.

Bronco, Bronco, tearin' across the Texas plain.
Bronco, Bronco, Bronco Layne.

Show me a gal who kissed him once,
And I'll show you a gal who's kissed him twice.
Once a city gal has kissed him twice,
She's dreamin' of shoes and rice.

Bronco, Bronco, tearin' across the Texas plain.
Bronco, Bronco, Bronco Layne.

Was readin’ ‘bout the murder defendant whut stabbed the trial judge in Stockton, CA. Saw the cop what canceled ‘is bus pass with a single shot ta the head was a Lodi cop. Made me think ah this’n.

Fogerty ain’t always easy ta understand. First I heard it I thought he was sayin’ ‘I’m suckin’ on old tires again.’

(J. Fogerty)
Just about a year ago, I set out on the road,
Seekin' my fame and fortune, lookin' for a pot of gold.
Things got bad, and things got worse, I guess you will know the tune.
Oh ! Lord, stuck in Lodi again.
Rode in on the Greyhound, I'll be walkin' out if I go.
I was just passin' through, must be seven months or more.
Ran out of time and money, looks like they took my friends.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

The man from the magazine said I was on my way.
Somewhere I lost connections, ran out of songs to play.
I came into town, a one night stand, looks like my plans fell through
Oh ! Lord, stuck in Lodi again.

Mmmm...
If I only had a dollar, for ev'ry song I've sung.
And ev'ry time I've had to play while people sat there drunk.
You know, I'd catch the next train back to where I live.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.
Oh ! Lord, I'm stuck in Lodi again.

yeah his saddles brought premium dollars.   With all the money he made off of offical products, it's a shame they had to sell off alot to pay taxes.   He and Dale had like 6gazillion kids you'd thunk he could deducted them on their taxes better.

Back in the 50's, Roy and Dale contributed to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch west on Amarillo.  The Ranch was located on what was once the town of Tascosa.  Roy and Dale donated clothes and boots to the kids at Boys Ranch every Christmas. Roy and Dale were at the Stock show in Fort Worth.  Roy was commissioned as a Deputy Sheriff for Tarrant County and Dale was made an honorary citizen of Fort Worth.  I never got to meet Roy and Dale, they came into the coffee shop at a motel one morning. I was working in Waxahachie at the PD. I had just finished my night shift and was going home . Dale's mother had passed away in a little town near Waxahachie. They were there for the funeral. It was around 75 or 76. I did get to meet Dusty one time at the Museum in Victorville.
