I picked up a kids horn a few years ago and had some real trouble with it.  My fingers knew what ta do but my lips were lost.  Gettin braces was my downfall back then.  Used ta pack wax over em, but everything changed.  After a year of that I threw in the towel and picked up the guitar.  Traded the horn for a nice mandolin at a place called The Starving Musician.  It's still there.

The place.  Fer all I know the horn is too just waitin fer me.  Stranger things have happened.  Lil's been following aong on this thread and really wants ta hear me play again.  I'm going to have ta go find a copy of the movie "Young Man With A Horn".  It was an insperation to me way back, an may be the kick in the butt I need now.  Cept acourse I don't wanna git hit by a car in the end.

Rooster, that sounded great!

I was able to get my trumpet up here thanks to my Mom coming up over the weekend for a visit.  I'm now working on getting it playable again.

"Young Man with a Horn" is a great movie.  My band instructor in middle school had us always watch a movie every friday for inspiration.  That was one of them, obligatory "Music Man" was another, it was great... he really inspired me.

That movie came on one day while I was home sick from school.  Made me wanna grab the horn an work on improvising.  Haven't seen it in years (many years) but I'll never forget it.

Atchaly "that other drummer" I was refferin ta was Buddy Rich.  But yeah, quite a line up they got.  Guess that's why they call it Heaven.
