From what I’ve heard it was a very expensive lesson.

Yeah, when I am around a CW station I hear lots of Toby, don't here no Dixie Twits, never seen no FUTC T-Shirts on anyone, saw several FUDC ones though.

You know when the Spin Doctors start trying to explain what the letters on a t-shirt mean, then they mean exactly what you thought they did.

heard this one yesterday,  had almost forgotten it.

She's a railroad lady
Just a little bit shady
Spendin' her days on the trains
She's a semi-good looker
But the fast rails they took 'er
Now she's tryin', just tryin' to get home again

South Station in Boston to the stock yards of Austin
From the Florida sunshine to the New Orleans rain
Now that the rail p.a.c.s (1)
Have taken the best tracks
She's tryin', just tryin' to get home again

She's a railroad lady
Just a little bit shady
Spendin' her life on a train
Once a pullman car traveller
Now the switchmen(2)won't have 'er
She's tryin', just tryin' to get home again

Once a high ballin' loner he thought he could own 'er
Bought her a fur and a big diamond ring
She hocked 'em for cold cash
in a town on the Wabash (3)
Never thinkin', never thinkin' of home way back then

But the rails are now rusty
The dinin' car's dusty
Gold plated watches have taken their toll
Yeah the railroads are dyin'
And the lady she's cryin'
On a bus to Kentucky and home that's her goal

She's a railroad lady
Just a little bit shady
Spendin' her life on a train
She's a semi-good looker
But the fast rails they took 'er
Now she's tryin', just tryin' to get home again

Coda:
Yes on a bus to Kentucky and home once again
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

Okay guys.
Not to derail your train of thought, but out here in the West we have two out of three of these.  What we need now is the RAIN!!

THEY CALL THE WIND MARIA

Now way out here they have a name for rain and wind and fire
The rain is Tess, the fire's Joe and they call the wind Maria

Maria blows the star around and sets the clouds a-flyin'
Maria makes the mountains sound like folks was out there dyin'
Maria, Maria
They call the wind Maria

Before I knew Maria's name and heard her wail and whinin'
I had a gal and she had me and the sun was always shinin'
But then one day I left my gal, I left her far behind me
And now I'm lost, so goldurned lost, not even God can find me
Maria, Maria
They call the wind Maria

Now here they have a name for rain, for wind and fire only
But when you're lost and all alone there ain't no name for lonely
Now I'm a lost and lonely man without a star to guide me
Maria blow my love to me, I need my gal beside me
Maria (Maria), Maria (Maria)
They call the wind Maria

Maria....Maria....Maria
They call the wind Maria

If the rain comes
they run and hide their heads
They might as well be dead
If the rain comes
If the rain comes

When the sun shines
they slip into the shade
and sip their lemonade
When the sun shines
When the sun shines

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

I can show you
that when it starts to rain
everything's the same
I can show you
I can show you

Rain, I don't mind
Shine, the weather's fine

Can you hear me
that when it rains and shines
it's just a state of mind
Can you hear me
Can you hear me

You guys on the West Coast also might think about hiring a Native-American to do a "Rain Dance".  OT and I are part Okla. Cherokees. I don't know if he has any experience in this venue. I certainly do not.

It might be worth lookin inta, but truth of the matter is that rain jus dont happen this time a year round here.  It's normal fer summer, don't 'spect nuthin til October, but it could wait til January.
Just the way it is in sunny CA.

They got the Green Corn festivals coming up this month,  they'll be doing all kinds of dances and ceremonies.  I've been to a couple of em, they get down serious.   I can remember several years, when there would be droughts or heat waves, sometimes it'd rain sometimes not.
go over around Tahlequah, Oklahoma  and you can find any kind of medicine or spells or rain makers, all ya got to do is ask the first person in town ya see and they'll probably know somebody.  mostly Cherokee over there.  or if yer so inclined, go to Okmulgee, Ok. same thing only there you'll get a Creek Indian.

That website has a lot of information about Cherokees,  seems like you can go back several times and find something new.
