Del, I have a couple of XM Satellite radio receivers. I have one at my house and another that rotates between my pickup and my Sheriff's unit.  Channel 13 is called Willie's Place. They play old time country music. That is what I listen to every day.

Happy Anniversary, TLD. We're kinda like Del and Rita, seems like something always comes up to mess up plans to go out. Maybe one of these days we'll get to go out again....................Buck 8) ::) :-\

Del,
I've been through an am in the process of raisin four girls, an have actualy done the gun cleanin  ;D  It works well with them boys as well as unsavory neighbors.  Sometimes there's just not enough light in the house to get the job done correct an only the front porch'll do.  ::)

This one is for Slim, played to death, but kinda cute.

The Declaration of Independence
Think I could tell you that first sentence
But then I’m lost

I can't begin to count the theories
I've had pounded in my head
That I forgot

I don't remember all that Spanish
Or the Gettysburg address
But there is one speech from high school
I'll never forget

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Ain’t it son?
Hey y'all run along and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Bet I’ll be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Well now that I’m a father
I’m scared to death one day my daughter
Is gonna find
That teenage boy I used to be
That seems to have just one thing on his mind

She’s growin' up so fast
It won't be long before
I’ll have to put the fear of god into
Some kid at the door

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Now ain't it son?
Y’all go out and have some fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Now it's all for show
Ain’t nobody gonna get hurt
It’s just a daddy thing
And hey, believe me, man it works

Come on in boy sit on down
And tell me about yourself
So you like my daughter do you now?
Yeah we think she's something else
She's her daddy's girl
Her momma's world
She deserves respect
That’s what she'll get
Now ain't it son?
Y’all run along and have a little fun
I'll see you when you get back
Probably be up all night
Still cleanin' this gun

Son, now y'all buckle up and have her back by te- let's say about nine...thirty.
Drive safe.

Great song.  ;D

My wife and I never had any kids.  My wife said that we would probably have had girls. My wife said that the girls would have hated me. I would have been intimidating to the suitors. I am a rather large man and being a LEO would be intimidating also. Cleaning a handgun when they come to pickup the daughter is a nice touch.

Howdy!

Texas Lawdog, my wife and I are curious:  what is your clan and where is the museum and castle you mentioned?

Thanks.  When Mrs. B gets home, I'll ask her if she's been there - I haven't and I'll have to get a map to find Pithlochry in Perthshire.  She's from Glasgow, and that's where I'm most familiar with  - from Glasgow to Edinburgh and in between.  Lowlands.  I'll bet you even know how to pronounce Edinburgh correctly!  ;D

Here ya go, sing this to the regular Garry Owen music. ;)

David Wilkie and Cowboy Celtic, I advise givin' them a listen to, good stuff.

You've seen him on the silver screen
With his yellow hair a-flyin'
Calmly he surveys the scene…
A good day for a-dyin'.

Standing on the battlefield
His pistols just a-smokin'…
They say he was the last to yield
But they must have been jokin'.

Like ants they swarmed on his command
Like bees, the bullets hummin'.
No time for a final stand,
Custer died a-runnin'.

They chased him up the hillside
Into bullets and confusion.
The overwhelmin' landslide
Brought it to a quick conclusion.

Just who fell first and who was last
There's no way to be knowin',
But surely through the gates of Hell
He knew he was a-goin'.

The devils danced as he went down
In the hail of arrows comin'
Out on the wild Montana ground,
Custer died a-runnin'.

I had a GG uncle on my Dad's side of the family that was a Capt. in the Cav. during the Indian Wars.  He took part in the Powder River campaigns. I have his Navy Colt and most of it's original holster.

Got some Lakota customers, one I knew fairly well is like me, hates the Kevin Costner movie with the Henry, says the dummy who wrote it don't know the differance 'tween hostiles and friendlies.  Says his people would a had costner's hair hangin' on a tepee pole, have to agree with him.  He's one of the editors of the local paper.

I dunno TL.
That Billy the Kid versus Dracula was pretty good.  Maybe a double feature is in order.
