Cutting a mighty dashing figure there Captain! Are you tipping your hat to the camera or pointing a steenken pistola at it? A bit hard to tell.

Saturday getting ready for Buffalo Camp as I will be away all next week with work, so I want to be organised (for a change). I will also be installing a new (to me) safe in my office so I can do dry fire drills, etc.

Sunday off to Cowra to shoot with the Cowra Cowboys. Hopefully I will be able to get my new 1873 Uberti rifle working. I only managed to get one shot out of it last time. Hopefully it was an ammo issue. I don't fancy posting it back to Qld for  a fix. It will be nice to see where my new Piettas are shooting as well. I usually leave these things to the last moment and sort the bugs out in the middle or a big match, WRONG!!!!!  ;D

If yer interested in C&Bs I will bring along my new Cavalry Commemorative pair to Buff camp. I had all intentions of using these to shoot, but not sure at this stage.
All my cowboy gun's calibres start with a 4! It's gotta be big bore and whomp some!

Went to the gun show. Walked out $775.00 poorer. My dear lady (Molly Blade) will be the new owner of a 30/30 and a Greener 12g hammer gun (NO need to lighten the hammers on this one  ;D ;)) when she has the permits in 4-6 weeks. Would like to have them for our Nationals end of September, but don't think it will happen :'(.

Need to get another long arm cabinet now. They won't fit into the current storage area :o ;D.

I didn't see you both at the show. If I had I could have brought them home and Molly could have used them next weekend.

Dakota,
we got there at around 1330 and walked out at around 1645.

There wasn't a great deal there to see really, was there?.

Oh well, can't help bad luck and poor timing I guess.

See you at Cooyal ?.

Regards

I'll be there, loaded some 30/30s with trail boss and fired them off at the range today. Couldn't see where they were hitting but bought the target back to 25yds, they are striking about 6" low on the maximum sight setting, bugger, I will have to re-think this.

I have to be ready for Buffalo Camp next Friday.

G'day, just got back from Cooyal, had a great weekend, shot a bucketful of ammo, couldn't get my new (to me) 30/30 to work right. I have been so busy i never had time to get it sorted, which is a shame. Like big Arnie said, "I'll be back!"

Thanks, Matt, Cib & Mrs Cib, sassy and others, a big effort from a small club.

I liked the Pat Garrett match so much, I plan on attending as many monthly weekend shoots at Cooyal that I can. Decided to buy a 1876 in 45/60 or 45/75. None to be had,  >:(

I thought about it and as I have a BPCR 45/70, I decided that I have the long range matches covered, so started looking for a 45/70 Cowboy Marlin. None to be had in those either,  >:(  >:(  >:(

All I could get was one of those big shiny ugly Marlin XTwhatevers in 45/70, the stainless one with the long Bbl and grey laminated wood. It is off to the Gunsmiths at Sefton for a cobbled up full length mag tube and a bit of honing and de-horning. I don't know about the wood though, I wonder if it will take a stain if I strip the finish off it????? ???

Anyways, looking forward to getting this big mutha slinging lead, thats for sure.
Mick.

Shucks, by the time the 1876s come in I won't be working and probably won't have the bucks for it, I was going to go full hog and get my own headstamp on the brass from Bruce Bertram and all.

A fool and his money are not soon parted if there's no toys in the country.

Anyways i will probably end up with a customised big Marlin which will end up costing the same or more that the 1876, especially if I re-stock it.

I wonder if the wood from a 444S will swap?
