Thanks Rowdy ,had a great time hunting with my Brother and Friends . Mule Deer season is next. Hope you have some luck with the Doe hunt Rowdy . Saw a bunch of Rio Grand Turkey this wk. Looks good for the Spring season. It will be here before you know it . Think Im gonna use a 1873 Win. in 32-20 WCF. For Turkey. Keep the fire burning. Dusty .

Hey Rowdy .As I said I cast the 45-75 bullets from soft lead ,for hunting. I would not want to use pure lead for lots of shooting .But for hunting I think they make a more expanding bullet . At least I think so. The gun shoots them good . And on both animals it looked like the exit hole was about two or three times bigger than the entrance . Any thoughts.Dusty.

The pure  lead bullets should be fine . As long as they pass through the game no problem . And having a larger exit wound is a good thing . The main thing is your accuracy as long as she shoots good and you have the CONFIDENCE in your shots . Keep on Hunting and enjoying life . Just remember we love the old lever guns , we shoot them regularly and taking game with these weapons is a big deal to us .

Hey fellers i still got my hair, thanks for askin, i plumb missed your guys posts.  :-[
Tomorrow is the last day of rifle season here for white tails.
Seen 8 does this evening on my field but can only shoot a buck.
Seen a nice one of those a week ago but was to far away for a shot, about 220 yards and almost dark.
Grats to everyone else and thanks again.  :)

Well boys it`s all over but the crying as they say.
There were nine does in front of us but no buck, we put two lawn chairs in between those big spruce trees along the Field and those does never had a clue.
One walked over and was about eight feet in front of us but never busted us, should of got a video but i`m sure she would of heard the camera turn on.
I never did get to serious this year for some reason but it was fun getting out and seen a lot of does.
Hope ya all did better.

I have to admit that i didn`t put the effort in hunting that i should, didn`t feel real good and that makes it harder to get out there.
Could be worse and really no excuses i reckon, have to go back to shootin paper for groups.  ;D
