Sept. is here and I am getting the itch for Nov. Deer season way to early . Going to take the 1876 Winchester 45-75 bp.loads out early and try and rid West Texas of some of those pesty hogs . All fun and good eating .Nothing like fresh pork roasting on the Mesquite coals . Next Wt. deer and Mule deer .

Ive seen the deer and several others on different occasions. Lately, Ive been watching alot more, I have a nuisance coyote that is getting bolder by the day. When the opportunity presents itself, hes gonna be assassinated, he grabbed one of the wife's chickens.

Just moved my ladder stand to a new spot, calling it my 76 stand.  ;D
It`s in the second tree from the end closest in the first picture

Nice looking spot Pitchy. Those trees look good .Some of the places I hunt you cant see a tree for a couple hundred miles . You can realy stretch your barrel  if you want to . Dusty.

Season opens here the middle of August and runs through Jan1 unless it falls on Sat, then it is extended to Jan 2.  I think the guys are up to three does and unlimited bucks, weeell almost, based on one per day.  At most of the clubs in this region the deer are terribly stunted now from the strain but the ones on my place are fat and beautiful, particularly the does.  The biggest buck has not been seen since year before last, he was a ten pointer and at least 200lbs+ on the hoof and trimmed for luvin!  Not sure if he peeked and has started down or perhaps bought the farm.  Shux, they feed so close to the house that buckshot would be overkill from my patio and many neighbors stop on the dirt road to look.

Thanks, about 300 yards across the field but i have another stand on that side and we`ll put a guy in both.
Rife season is three weekends where i`m at and buck only unless ya draw a doe permit so huntin may be a little harder.
Thinking about buying a archery tag, can shoot either sex with that but haven`t decided.
Now days i spend more time chasing road hunters off than anything else  >:(

Built a blind where i moved the ladder stand from, it`s a good location so wanted to be able to hunt there.

From inside the blind.
