"We Are Strong, Strong Supporters" of ObumaCrappyCare Says Demo-Rat Staffers Desperately Trying To Get An Exemption

(Demo-Rat Rep. Gwen Moore's staff express their unwavering support for ObumaCrappyCare while simultaneously complaining it is "simply unaffordable")

Via The Hill:

Older congressional staff say their out-of-pocket healthcare costs will rise three or four times after they enter the ObamaCare insurance exchanges.

The economic shock has led Democratic chiefs of staff to call for changing the rules so that their staffers won't take the economic hit.

The chiefs of staff have expressed support for a change that would allow congressional offices to re-classify their workers as non-official staff so that they can avoid the higher costs.

"Simply unaffordable," Minh Ta, chief of staff to Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Wis.), wrote in an email to fellow Democratic chiefs of staff on Thursday afternoon.

Ta's email, sent to other House Democratic chiefs of staff, said staffers above the age of 59 felt a "shock to the system" upon seeing plan prices on the District of Columbia's new insurance marketplace.

[...]

Ta wrote that House administrators are refusing to allow him to change workers' designation until next year.

"I am asking for a solution now though because I will lose staff in my office because of this snafu," Ta wrote in his email.

"I mentioned to payroll and House [administration] that it was unfair for our offices to make this designation without allowing our staff the ability [to] actually go on the [marketplace] to compare rates."

Asked about the e-mail, Ta said that the office is "not trying to blame anybody," especially the White House.

The frustration, he explained, is that his office and others are dissatisfied that lawmakers and staff are being treated differently than other federal employees.

"We're strong, strong supporters of the [Affordable Care Act]," said Moore's press secretary, Staci Moore.

Other offices on Capitol Hill said they're fearful of workers leaving due to the changes in health insurance. Members of both parties have repeatedly warned that top talent could lose if healthcare benefits are significantly eroded.

Doctors Warn of Physician Shortages Due To Insurance Plans
Bought On ObumaCrappyCare Exchanges Paying Them Less

(Why would anyone want to waste the time and money it takes to become a doctor with ObamaCrappyCare in place?)

WASHINGTON — http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2013/11/20/209165/doctors-are-concerned-about-pay.html

Many doctors are disturbed that they'll be paid less – often a lot less – to care for the millions of patients who are projected to buy coverage through the health law's new insurance marketplaces.

Some have complained to medical associations – including those in Texas, California, Georgia, Connecticut and New York – saying the discounted rates could lead to a two-tiered system in which fewer doctors participate, perhaps making it harder for consumers to get the care they need.

"As it is, there is a shortage of primary care physicians in the country, and they don't have enough time to see all the patients who are calling them," said Peter Cunningham, a senior fellow at the nonpartisan Center for Studying Health System Change in Washington.

If providers are paid less, he said, "Are (enrollees) going to have difficulty getting physicians to accept them as patients?"

Insurance officials acknowledge that they have reduced rates in some plans, saying they are under enormous pressure to keep premiums affordable. They say physicians will make up for the lower pay by seeing more patients, since the plans tend to have smaller networks of doctors.

But many primary care doctors say they barely have time to take care of the patients they have now.

The conflict sheds light on the often murky world of insurance contracts, in which physicians don't always know which plans they're listed in or how much they're being paid to treat patients in a particular plan. As a result, some doctors are just learning about the lower pay rates in some plans sold in the online markets, or exchanges.

Insurance Companies To Get Taxpayer-Funded Bailouts If
Not Enough People Enroll In ObumaCrappyCare Thanks To Obscure Provision In The Law

(Which is basically a guarantee at this point)

Via Yahoo! News:
The insurance industry may be next in line to receive a hefty government bailout. That's what could happen if signups for Obamacare fall short of expectations triggering an obscure provision in the Affordable Care Act that makes up any serious losses.

The potential price tag: millions of taxpayer dollars or more over a 3-year period.

So-called "risk corridors" were  included in the 2010 health law to compensate insurance companies for major coverage losses in the event that far more older and sick people signed up for health plans than younger, healthy people and drove up their costs after they had set the premiums.  If actual claims exceed projections by more than 3 percent under Obamacare, the government will compensate the industry for those losses.

The new federal and state-run insurance exchanges – plagued by hundreds of technical glitches and other operational problems – have reported signing up just 106,185 people nationwide through Nov. 2, amid signs that relatively few young adults are turning to the program for coverage.

That problem could be compounded by President Obama's call last week for insurance companies to reverse course and restore millions of individual health care plans that were cancelled because they don't meet the new higher standards under Obamacare. Some health industry officials and state insurance commissioners fear Obama's request could destabilize the already troubled new exchanges and further discourage younger people from enrolling.

Texas Family With Two Kids Fighting Cancer Have Their
Insurance Canceled Because of ObumaPutridCare

(I can't even begin to imagine what this family is going through)

GAINESVILLE, TEXAS — A Gainesville family is fighting for their childrens' lives.

Ronald and Krista Alford's two children, Hunter and Mikayla, were born with extremely rare types of cancer.

Now, sven years into fighting that battle, they've been hit with a new one: their children's insurance has been cancelled, affecting Hunter's chemotherapy.

News 12′s Allison Harris brings us their story of struggle and strength.

Hunter Alford is due for his next round of chemo.

As of right now, his mom Krista says, he's unlikely to get it.

"Since his insurance was dropped, we're thinking about cancelling his chemotherapy," Krista Alford said.

The 7-year-old, who loves playing games on his iPad, is reportedly the youngest person to have his type of cancer.

Hunter has Plexiform Hishocyne Neoplasm.

The Alford's are in a battle with children's medicaid — or CHIP — Hunter's insurance.

Krista says, despite receiving a new, renewed insurance card, the agency told her they dropped his insurance.

"I called them and they said we were dropped October 31st," Krista said.

Krista says an insurance agent told her that Hunter's information got lost when they made changes under the new Affordable Care Act.

Now, Krista is on a mission to re-gain that insurance, but they're running out of time before his next chemo treatment, and the agent says they can't expedite.

Pakistan Charges Hero Doctor (Abandoned By POS Obuma)
Who Helped U.S. Kill Bin Laden With Murder
[/b][/font]

(Out of all the scummy moves Obuma has made, leaving this guy to rot in a Pakistani jail cell is near the top.  Obuma will will get his comeupperance one day from the American people.
Comeuppance: A punishment or retribution that one deserves; one's just deserts. ie, "It's a chance to strike back with extreme force at Barack Hussein Obuma and give him his comeuppance for 'evaluative' sins of the past.")

Via Reuters:
The doctor who helped the United States track down al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been charged with murder, in the latest development in a case that has strained ties between the two countries.

Shakil Afridi, hailed as a hero by US officials, was arrested after U.S. soldiers killed bin Laden in May 2011 in a secret raid that outraged Pakistan and plunged relations between the strategic partners to a new low.

Pakistan arrested Afridi and sentenced him last year to 33 years in jail for membership of militant group Lashkar-e-Islam, an accusation he denies.

But in August, Pakistan overturned his conviction, citing procedural errors and ordering a retrial.

Friday's murder charge, relating to the death of a patient eight years ago, dims Afridi's chances of going free and could further sour ties with the United States.

NBC's Blackout of Obamacare Disaster Hits 96 Hours And Counting

(Pathetic as hell... and NBC/MSNBC wonder why their ratings are in the toilet)

Via Newsbusters:
After going 72 hours without even mentioning ObamaCare on its air waves, NBC's continued refusal to cover the disastrous policy on Thursday's Nightly News or Friday's Today brought that total up to 96 hours. Amazingly, Friday's Today had the audacity to include two segments about Vice President Joe Biden buying lunch at a Washington D.C. sandwich shop rather provide any ObamaCare updates.

Even ABC's Good Morning America, a morning show generally devoid of all substance, managed to find time for at least a few seconds on the topic: "Speaking of President Obama, more trouble this morning for ObamaCare. The Wall Street Journal says it has obtained documents that show some insurance companies are drastically cutting payments to doctors. Forcing those doctors to reconsider whether they want to participate in the new exchanges, which could hurt choice for consumers."

No Transparency: Obama Now Limits Press Access
to His Events, Wants to CONTROL
What Americans
Know About Him & His Agenda

With all the deservedly negative, critical press Pres. Barack Obama has received for his broken ObamaCare website and his power-grabbing, expensive health care mandates, as well as the scandals of the botched Operation Fast and Furious, Benghazi, Solyndra, NSA spying on Americans, the IRS targeting conservatives, what should poor "Mr. Transparency" do?

Limit the press's access and control the "message," of course. Only adoring lapdog media need apply.

Bring in the leftist propagandist clowns.

We don't need no stinkin' Constitution... we don't need no stinkin' truth...

Head Clown Obuma invited several members of the media — notably, the more liberal members — for an off-the-record, behind-the-scenes chance to chat about Obamacare, in what some are describing as a Hail Mary attempt to do some much-needed damage control.

From McClatchey DC:

White House blocks access to Obama events, news groups say:
The nation's largest news organizations lodged a complaint Thursday against the White House for imposing unprecedented limitations on photojournalists covering President Barack Obama, which they say have harmed the public's ability to monitor its own government.

The organizations accuse the White House of banning photojournalists from covering Obama at some events, and then later releasing its own photos and videos of the same events.

"Journalists are routinely being denied the right to photograph or videotape the president while he is performing his official duties," according to a letter the organizations sent to the White House. "As surely as if they were placing a hand over a journalist's camera lens, officials in this administration are blocking the public from having an independent view of important functions of the executive branch of government."

Presidents often look for ways to get their own messages out. But media experts say Obama's administration has developed an aggressive strategy to use social media, including government-sponsored websites and blogs, as well as Twitter, Instagram and Flickr accounts, to circumvent the media's constitutional duty more than its predecessors have.

"You are only seeing what they want you to see," said Lucy Dalglish, the dean of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest defended the release of photos and videos, saying the practice helps Obama live up to his pledge of transparency by allowing the public to have greater access to the inner workings of the administration when it's not feasible for news media to be in the room.

"What we've done is we've taken advantage of new technology to give the American public even greater access to behind-the-scenes footage or photographs of the president doing his job," Earnest said. "To the American public, that's a clear win."

He said the news organizations' protests were just part of the natural tension between journalists and those they covered.

"The fact that there is a little bit of a disagreement between the press corps and the White House press office about how much access the press corps should have to the president is built into the system," he said at the daily White House news briefing. "If that tension didn't exist, then either you or we aren't doing our jobs."

Relations between Obama officials and journalists have further deteriorated this year.

News reports last spring indicated that the Justice Department had secretly seized the telephone records of reporters at the Associated Press and investigated a Fox News reporter as a potential criminal for doing his job.
