Years ago back in Montana them folks was emu crazy...>spit< they is as bad as >spit< sheep >spit<  folks>from the left coast move up there with all these scemes and crazy farm ideals..They was pushin' them emu aigs and meat every where.  Neighbor brought some over sed he and his wife didn't care for it, wondered if our dogs would want it.(had Molly and a young male and a litter of them dogs at that time)  I thought will let them try, every one of them turned their noses to it., neighbor sed it was no wonder they didn't like it.  Leathersmith down in Salmon was buying the hides up and making belts and bridals and such, tolt me that all they was good for.>just the hide<

I got a jar of picled quail eggs in the cupboard, daughter gave them to me, on the same shelf as the potted meat and the pickled pigs lips. ;D

Emergency stash in case we get snowed in for maybe a month or so. ::)

The only Quail egg I ever had was many moons ago in So. Cal.  It was raw, and in the center of a piece of Sushi!  :o :P  The one time  and the only time) some co-workers talked me into Sushi for lunch!!!!  If I go hunting under the pine trees in my yard later this Spring I might find a few!  ::)

Had a few thousand eggs one e’enin’

Werkin’ a OD dignitary protection detail at the Meyers house. Gooood money. After we got ‘em from the house ta Chrysler Hall fer the ballet, had time ta kill. Staff invited us in ta attack the remainin’ hdvs with ‘em. Mustah been a gazillion hard boilted eggs sliced in half with the yolks scooped out ‘n caviar stuffed in ‘em. N’er had it ‘fore. It was pretty good. Pigged out. After a few we figgered we’d best stop on the champagne fountain ‘n switched ta tea.

Fun evenin’. Asked ‘em why they were takin’ the ice sculpture out.  Said the things were expensive so they take ‘em back ta the freezer, spray ‘em with water ’n refinish ‘em. They were carryin’ the thing ta a van. Got away from ‘em in the courtyard ‘n it busted inta a thousand pieces.

Oh I will, figger I'll take them on one of my trips and put them out on the cupboard like I do the pig lips, might get some takers on the eggs. ;)

I'e yet ta try a pickled egg.  Seems like somethin up my alley but they don't smell right ta me.  I'm sure it's only a matter of time.  Did see a feller at one of them egg drop contests win by soakin a raw egg in vinegar,  the shell turned inta a gelatinous substance an the egg didn't break.  It was strange.

BBQ, Chili and pickeled eggs at the same meal would cure the energy crisis. ;D
