NCOWS PR in OHIO
« on: May 10, 2006, 06:46:29 PM »
Worked at a gunshow during the weekend in Lima Ohio (same one I got the 32/20 at). Our club set up a table to educate the masses about the wonders of NCOWS. We passed out 200 fliers telling all about NCOWS. It was amazing the misconceptions people have about us. I talked to a SASS TG who sat and talked for two hours, he thought at first that NCOWS was just trying to reinvent the wheel, after our talk he wanted to give working cowboy a try. He also liked the way that we did not have the race guns to worry about.  We had people from Ohio, Indiana, Michagan and Penn. come through.  I told them the easiest way to is explain the difference between NCOWS and SASS is that SASS is the old IPSC guys where NCOWS is the old buckskinners. I hope we all can pick up some new members.

Sounds like you did a great job as a NCOWS ambassador.  You explanation regarding the roots of SASS and NCOWS was right on.

That is great. Sometimes you feel like John the Baptist wandering in the wilderness of a SASS world but I think the message is getting out to the masses (just don't lose your head over it!). I enjoyed getting down to shoot with you last summer. Best wishes.

I always tell folks the difference between SASS and NCOWS is that SASS plays movie cowboys, and NCOWS plays real cowboys.  I like your definition as well.

Doc,
Great Job promoting NCOWS!  Ya know we passed a motion at the last congress meeting to reimburse posse's who do just what you did.  If your gun show table was rented just to promote NCOWS, you qualify.  Sent me a receipt for expenses (up to $100) and I'll be glad to reimburse your posse.

Congrats, Doc. Good job. The more misconceptions we can clear up, the better we are for it. Thanks for doing your part in the Ohio area.

I, too, hope to meet you and some of your pards at the Nationals.
