Oh Happy Day - it arrived
« on: May 05, 2006, 11:51:10 AM »
During the winter I bought an 1872 open top in 45 Schofield. It shoots so well that I thought I would get something else to keep it from getting lonesome. I've managed to run down and aquire a 1860 Richards-Mason Conversion in 45 Schofield. It arrived yesterday and I'm heading for the range this afternoon to try it out. Both guns are Uberti and seem to operate very smoothly.

I now feel fully qualified to be a member of STORM seeing as I have a pair of open tops now. With 7 1/2 and 8 inch barrels I feel I should be able to reach out and pistol whip the targets down.

Anybody else out there shoot these models in 45 Schofield?

Nine Toe,

Yep the RM Conversion is a sweet shooter(mine are in .44Colt/Russian),  I think you will enjoy it.  I looked your web site over and enjoyed it very much.

I would like to put together a uniform somewhat like yours, could you tell me where yours was purchased or if you had it made whether that person is still doing them?  I appreciate any information you can supply.

Thanks much, Capt. John

Well got back from the range today. Both pistols are zeroed in at 25 yards right out of the box. I've been shooting the 1872 open top for a couple of months now and was amazed that I didn't have to make any sight adjustments. The first 5 round were a little scattered when I tried the 1860 R-M today but when I got the idiot behind the trigger calmed down a bit it did a respectable duelist group at 25 yds.
