On Terry Lane's behalf, Otoe/Pawnee Ceremony
« on: March 29, 2006, 11:42:13 AM »
Terry ask me to post the following information on his behalf. At the function Terry will be portraying Buffalo Bill, prior to the speakers there will be an Otoe/Pawnee by the name of Mathew Jones doing an opening ceremony. Usally these consist of blessing everyone present and the area being used. Normally Assaiimoutiig (tobacco), cedar or sage (or all three) is used to do the blessing.

Just for your information.....

Would that be the unveiling of the new quarter?

Report of today's ceremony.

Gen Pitspitr & I were in attendance today at Col Cody's dedication of the Nebraska Quarter (no, not a UNL Football Quarter).  He did a superb job of telling the history of Nebraska.
I am real proud to say that I am a Nebraka native & I am more proud to be a friend of our Col WF Cody (Terry Lane).
I have some digital pictures taken of both Col Cody & Sitting Bear that I can email to anyone interested.

Respectfully submitted,
Mustang Gregg
