I've always thought that Colts were the ultimate single action. But now I'm not so sure. I've handled a few 1858 (1863) Remmies and have fallen in love with them. The grip feels awesome in my hand and the balance is astounding--not barrel heavy. I'm about to order a 5.5" .44 Uberti from Taylor's in the "silver" (white steel) finish. I plan to have it sleeved to .357 and "converted" with an R&D cylinder. It should be a blast to shoot with .38 Specials.
I'd like to join SCORRS. I sent an e-mail a few days ago to papa Bear but haven't heard back from him.
