I joined up. But did I go about it correctly?
« on: March 11, 2006, 05:17:52 AM »
Pards,

Well, I went ahead and did it yesterday afternoon(been wanting to for awhile, but now that I know there is a Posse close by that sealed the deal) and payed through PayPal. I received my PAYMENT email from PP, but have not received one from NCOWS. So did I do something incorrectly or am I just being impatient ?

   Glad to be aboard!

First off, Welcome aboard Captain, I think you'll find you made the right choice! NCOWS is an all volunteer outfit, nobody gets paid to do anything. That being said, don't expect real fast turnaround on your membership. The Congress has talked about this before, but I think it would not hurt to have at least a part time "employee" to handle memberships and routine business for the office. Fact is, I'm not sure of who is doing this right now, anyone know?
Again, thanks for joining and hope to shoot with you sometime.

Uh, GW, we all thought YOU we handling this.  ;D

Seriously, Capt. John, I'll echo GW and formally welcome you to the NCOWS camp. We're glad to have you and hope you'll find the experience as rewarding as the rest of us do.

GW's right, though, this is a volunteer outfit and as such, moves a little slower than full-time paid staff (unless, of course, they're bureaucrats ;D). Please be patient, your stuff will arrive in a little while. If it doesn't, well, just let us know and we'll get it taken care of.

Again, glad to have you join us and looking forward to meeting you sometime.
