About 10 years ago I was perusing Gun broker, just window shopping.
I happen on this Stainless Steel Uberti, the consigner was Bob James.
The description mentioned it was a SASS tuned in 45 Colt.
The opening bid was $499 and listed with no reserve, there were no bids as yet and 3 days left.
So, what the hey, I bid the opening figuring I be out bid.
Well, when the auction reached 6 hours remaining, I was getting some nervus and some concerned.
Heck, I might win the bid "if" I did why? was there something wanky?
I won, and what I received was quite the "GEM" I had scored, actually!
The gun is a 2014 CM date code, meaning it was the then current year manufacture.
Bob James is or was a well-respected SASS competitor and Gunsmith.
The Gun arrived as new in box, with a Bob James Gunsmith detailed build invoice.
Including Action Job, springs, FP bushing, and the Colt checker style faux ivories.
There also a set of Black checkered grips.
I don't recall the list price of SS Uberti in 2014 or the going cost of an action job back then.
But I felt like a bandit
and this gun runs & shoots beautifully.
