.45 ACP Cylinder Installed and Returned by USFA

I just got my USFA SAA back from USFA for some minor warranty work and a new .45 ACP cylinder installed/fitted with its own cylinder bushing.  I haven't shot it yet, but was wondering if anyonelse has a .45 ACP cylinder fitted with their gun and how well it shoots?  What type of ammo works best?

Never had one, but thought about it, back when the only .45 Colt ammo you could find was $20 - $25 a box of 50. I would imagine .45 ACP would be a little milder than factory spec .45 Colt.

Actually SAAMI spec .45 ACP ammo is 19K CUP and .45 Colt is 14K CUP, but the recoil of .45 ACP is milder.  The cost of .45 ACP ammo is generally about half or less compared to .45 Colt.

Just got 2 rodeos in 45 LC and had them fit 2 cylinders in 45 autos. I find there is not much in handling, shooting, hit or recoil difference between the 2 calibers. It does give you a larger verity of ammo to use. Other than that I think it was a good choice for me.

Are you shooting Cowoy 'squib" 45 Colt ammo or full house loads?  45 ACP IME is milder recoiling compared to the same type of standard loading in 45 Colt. Cowboy 45 Colt ammo is loaded on the mild side so it isn't a good comparision to the real historical load.
