And the open action. All the screws look great, like I said in the other post, may be refinished as far as bluing, but not sure. There is some evidence of case on the latch. All markings are clear and easily readable except for the US on the but. Grips are numbered to the gun but have a hairline crack where someone over tightened them. Overall, I'm happy wit it. ;D

Thanks, Blair. I've been trading around with old Colts for quite some time, but never found a Schofield I could afford that was in shooting condition.  ;D

Still kicking myself over not buying that S&W American US for 2K back in '94, but my income was a fraction of what it is now, and they cost considerably more now as well. Oh well, the ones that got away... :'(

The Pathfinder,

It seems like every time I get interested in collecting something like S&W large frame revolvers, the prices start going through the roof.
I really enjoy shooting the original and repro S&W's I have gathered.
I hope you will too!
My best,
 Blair

I've had a Navy Arms Schofield for years now and always enjoyed it. Recently picked up a couple of Hand Ejector MkIIs and a 1917, but the big SA's always seemed to just stay out of reach. This one was brought in to the local shop on consignment and the manager knows I love old odd ball calibers and guns so held it so I could see it. Love at first sight. That and it was in the mid $2000 range made it too good to pass up. Can't wait too see how it does with BP loads. ;D
