I have one for all my calibers and they work great.  Had to send them a 45-75 case so they could make one but it works great too.

I got mine a couple months ago, love it. A bargain at the price of $25. Lee wanted to charge me $175 for a little bitty auto prime shell holder for the 45-75! I made one myself out of a regular shell holder for free.

ok, I've been all over the Lee website, half a dozen other sites that offer reloading equipment, Amazon and EBay, and nowhere can I find a listing for a 45-60 factory crimp die. I can find one for the 45-70 and even the 45-90, but the only crimping die is the Redding. Anyone know the sku # for it? Or do you have to actually call them on the phone to get it? You know, like talking to actual real people. ;D

The factory crimp die is a special order so you need to call them . I have sent them an email about adding this to their line up . So if everyone will send them a email this MIGHT help .  I can't wait to load a few rounds with it .

That would be nice- I'll be one of the e-mailers.
As far as the special order die, one must send a case w/ a seated bullet.  One way or the other, the factory crimp die is worth the wait and money.

Sounds great for me to.

Why is it necessary to send a case with seated bullet? Which is complicated from Bavaria to mail...

My 44-40 lee FC dies did not require a sample case ???

44-40 is a regular production die, 45-60/45-75 dies are special order dies. Meaning they only make them when someone orders one.

Just heard back from the folks @ Lee.  Too little customer demand to produce the regularly.

Thank you, now I do understand,

Lee already made such a die several times. Why is it still necessary to request a case with seated bullet again??

Got a chance to shoot a few rounds today . No problems at all . The ammo was loaded with trail boss , mostly wanted to see how the ammo functioned through my rifle . I plan on working a load up with Triple 7 , it worked Great in my 44wcf .

Another idea.  Lee sells 45-60 die sets, and individual parts for them.  I bought just an extra seating die body, without the stem.  It has a roll crimper built in. It acts just like a 4 die set--you seat the bullet without a crimp with the original seating die raised up in the press to not crimp, which is better, then using the extra seating die body alone as a 4th crimp die.  $15.00 and works like a charm.  They have these in stock I believe, and you don't have to go through the process of sending them a cartridge to make up the factory crimp die.  I don't see any disadvantage to doing it this way.

The roll crimp isn't as positive.  The factory crimp die also works where no crimp groove is present.  I prefer the 'factory' crimp, but that is me- been wrong before, will be wrong again.
