Where were USFA made!
« on: August 02, 2014, 08:23:51 PM »
I was under the impression the USFA SAAs were USA made until I found this thread and read that they were made using UBERTI parts.  When did this occur or were they always assembled here using UBERTI parts or were they made here up until ?

Blackey,
We must be on the board at the same time!  While you were posting this question, I was answering it on a reply that you posted on another topic.  Here is what I said;
No all USFA's were made up of Uberti parts, only the earlier ones (1993to around 2001ish).  Later guns, around 2002 to the end, were all US made.  There seems to be a bit of debate as to exactly when the transition to all US made took place.  Maybe Gary can give us a more definitive date.

WWYS brings up another good point that I failed to mention.  I believe that there was a definite transition period during which time guns were made up of both imported, Uberti parts and US made parts.  It just adds to the confusion!

May not be totally reliable but aren't most Ubertis marked "US Patent Firearms " with later non-Ubertis marked "U.S.F.A."
