Hornady LEVERevolution ammo?
« on: May 03, 2014, 08:08:14 PM »
Has anyone ever fired Hornady LEVERevolution ammo 45 colt 225 grain through a Uberti 1873? I was wanting to hunt deer when the time comes around. Does this ammo fit well (given it has the rubber tip on the end of the bullet) in the gun? And is the ammo to hot to put through this rifle?

My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it but Uberti is offering their 73s in 44 Mag.  The hornady Leverevolution and superformance Ammo are supposed to use a proprietary slow powder that gets the extra velocity without busting SAMMI pressure limits on a particular cartridge.  SAMMI pressure limits of 45 colt are way below 44 mag.

You could call or e-mail Hornady and ask them.
