Howdy Pards
Lately I have been doing some research on the revolvers and found a few within my $800.00 price range. Now, I just need one since it'll be a pleasure gun for the most part. Definitely .45LC.
I researched GW2, Cimarron's Frontier and Model P, Taylor's Smoke Wagon, Uberti's engraved cattleman and few others and don't really know what to do.
I would like it to be traditional (no transfer bar), sights don't matter really. And I do plan to replace the grips with ivory(ish) style ones.
GW2 would be perfect IF it had some patent dates which I really like on the gun and too bad those are missing now.
I really like the action of Cimarron Frontier as I had one before. And did find one with this fancy US finish as I mentioned in another post.
I absolutely like Smoke Wagon from Taylor company due to its action job and grip and hammer. And these do have those markings.
I was even thinking about buying something less expensive and sending it to classicguns for a finish job on which I got price already. I'm just that bad on the color case hardening and have to have it perfect. My GW2 from 1997 does have Turnbull on it and it's just phenomenal.
While I do enjoy looking at this engraved cattleman, I don't think it would be too practical for shooting, just too pretty.
I found brand new one American Western Arms' Peacekeeper at a decent price as well and it's within my budget. Looks like a freaking Colt for sure.
What do you recommend?
All input strongly appreciated.
