01/04/29, Bose Ikard died in Austin, Texas. Ikard was the most famous Black Frontiersman and Cattle Driver in Texas if not the entire Southwest. If you've read 'Lonesome Dove' you've read a fictionalized version of his life.

The inscription put on Deets marker in Lonesome Dove is copied directly from that Goodnight had inscribed on Bose Ikards. He was Charlie Goodnights right hand man and highly trusted. Read Charles Goodnight: Cowman and Plainsman by J. Evetts Haley.
