Lyman 427098?

I'm thinking of picking up one of these molds for my .44wcf Uberti '73 carbine, but have a question.

Apparently all .44 Ubertis have .429 barrels, mine included, but the Lyman site is calls for a .427 or .428 sizing die.

I'm wondering if anybody knows what diameter bullet these 098 molds drop at, because I'm thinking if it is at least shading .430 I could pan lube and shoot them with good accuracy in my gun.

So, if you are someone using this mold in this way in a Uberti .44wcf, how's it working for ya, please?

Hey Griff, many thanks that was great info. Already ordered the Accurate 43-215c. Great looking bullet, just what the doctor ordered. Swiss and Old E are impossible to get up here and this bullet looks like it will hold enough lube to work with Goex. Dandy.

Not so. Slug the barrel first. I have seen them go as high as 0.432". I have an Uberti Henry & '66 that both slug at 0.430". Every rifle is a world unto itself.

Every recent production Uberti I've checked is 429.

I've an old Navy Arms marked Henry that is 428

I usually shot 429 bullets in my BP loads but I've shot 430 also with good luck.

I normally use the RCBS .44 Cowboy bullet cast soft from their mold #82307 - .44-200-CM 636.  I have been sizing them at .430 for my 1860 Henry, 1866 Yellowboy Carbine and my 1973 Short Rifle with excellent results.  I also use the .44 Big Lube Mav Dutchman, sized at .430 as well.
