Ho Pards..
Gotta confooozed Puk here .......
I bought a mixed load of BA taps and dies no probs with any apart from one tap
Its maker is TOGA (Brit) and its size is No C BA Standard
Do any pards know what normal BA tap this is equivalent too? it looks awful close to a `0` BA
Paladin (What needs ta know ) UK
I hope this helps a little on identifying your BA Tap:
"Machinery's Handbook" or "Machinist's Handbook" has been published in the USA since before WW1 and is a Wealth of machining information. They have numerous tables of screws, threads, and Tap & Die dimensions covering the whole gamut of thread systems world wide. If you can find a copy in a Library there in UK it should give you the information to identify your tap in the proper scheme of B.A. threads.
There is a steady progression of information as the standards change so earlyier copies have some information no tin later copies.
Example: During the Two World Wars, thread forms and their usage were 'standardized', first in Aviation related fasteners, then for WW2 the 'Unified' system was imposed to make threaded fasteners interchangeably among the allies. a number of useful threads and forms were relegated to the 'obsolete for new design' lists and eventually their data were dropped from publication.
