The Searchers
« on: April 09, 2013, 08:45:23 AM »
I recently picked up a paper back version of "The Searchers" by Alan Lemay from our local Wal-Mart. At first I found it a bit difficult to read and follow. I finished the book and ended up liking it. The movie is quite different from the book especially the ending.

Based on a true story about a Black Man who rescued his family from the Comanche.

The making of this movie moved John Wayne so much that he refused to talk about it at all for the rest of his life.
I will no longer respond to the rants of the small minded that want to sling mud rather than discuss in an adult manner.

Significantly, he named one of his sons Ethan.

In the movie John Wayne's character is named Ethan Edwards. In the book it is Amos Edwards.
