Well, I say it isn't quiet!!! Not quiet at all!

Is that what you had in mind?  ;D

More seriously though, I assert that buying a 44-40 henry (replica) will make you bald, ugly and uninteresting. Leastwise that's what I'm blaming it on! But true happiness always comes at a price.

i would like to think that owning a henry would elevate you to the most interesting man in the world class.
in fact i been thinking on getting me a pin stripe suit and pinning a flower on the front and talk with a latin accent. and say things like shoot a henry my friends ;D

Yes, Bb, I would like to think that too. I was using my wife's perspective and she insists that talking 24/7 about Henry rifle history and the ballistics of the 44-40 is uninteresting. Like that is possible? Then again as a country we just reelected Obama; so I clearly need to update my paradigm of possibities...

Nice deer by the by!

Must not be limited to 44-40 Henry's. Mine's a .45lc. Other than that you're describing me!  :o

Lol!
Thanks for saying something! I had been tempted to get an iron frame one in 45 colt to convert to cowboy special so I could experience a real henry 16 shooter... I don't know if  I can afford a double dose of the side effects!  :o

A .45 Colt Henry, set up for Cowboy 45 Special is ...... Wait for It ....... A 17 shooter ;D.  But, you may have to make your own cases.  AJ quit the biz.  Unless Starline markets them, no more C45S :-[

That's it.  I'm going to Disney World!!!  No ..... Really.  Leaving Monday.  It's cold here.

BB, combine the best of both worlds and get an 1876.  Course them big ole bullets would have skinned thet little feller fer ye!  Anyone ever wonder how popular those originals would have been as hunting guns?  I seriously doubt the 'Dances With Wolves' idea and by modern standards the ammunition would have even been considered inadequate for deer but in those days I bet it was a popular deer gun for the small few who managed to get one before the '73, in 44wcf,  became common.
