Uberti repair question
« on: September 21, 2012, 08:19:39 PM »
This is for a Cattleman/Model P, but I think the answer will be the same for any clone in general.  When cocking the piece, the cylinder "locks" at the "second click" instead of spinning freely.  What part do I need to look at as the culprit, replacing, etc?

Thanks,
Hugh

It sounds as if the bolt timing may not be quite right.  Could include the bolt leg slipping off the hammer cam prematurely.

Bolt.  It is dropping to quickly.  Either the leg that goes over the cam is bent inward a tad and is coming off the cam to quick or the leg is to short.  It would be more unusual that a bolt problem, but the other culprit may be that the cam on the hammer is worn.  Easy enough to tell.  Remove the back strap and trigger guard and pull the hammer back slowly and watch the parts cycle.

Did this ever get fixed....just curious if you had luck in getting the pistol to work?
