Hammer Bolt/screws for shoulder stock?
« on: August 09, 2012, 05:23:48 PM »
Picked up a shoulder stock at the local gun show.  A little hand work and it fits my old .36 cal brass framed 'Reb'  I ground the detent/recess in the grip bottom. I backed out the hammer screw enough to allow the stocks recess to 'grab'.  Makes a nice rig!  But, what kind of  screw or screws do I need?  I see Dixie has a short screw they call the fourth screw?  Anyone messed with these.  It wouldseem you need a 'head' from each side.

I believe Dixie Gun Works has the screw, I got one from them a few years ago.  It has a longer head, and a longer threaded section with a threaded round "nut" to go on that side to fit the stock.  This was the system Colt used to fix a stock to the SAA.
