New Piece of Gear: My "reworked" Solingen Bowie

I've had this fine old German Bowie for several years. I had previously reground the blade to more closely resemble a mid-19th Century Bowie knife, and recently decided to re-handle it as well. These are the results, with stag handle scales, a "cloverleaf" nickel silver guard and nickel silver lower bolsters. It has an 8" blade and a 4 3/4" handle. The sheath is one I made myself...not fancy at all, but quite functional! It's pretty much "period-correct" for our time frame. I'm pleased with it!

Very nice knife and sheath. You should be happy with the outcome.

That's a sweet looking knife, Jake. I really like it. There's a lot to be said for a plain sheath, too. Not as pretty, in some ways, as beads and bangles, but a lot more historically correct. Great job all the way around.

Thanks, Caleb! I appreciate nice-looking gear with all the "foofraws" on it, but simplicity works for me. This one is built strong, so you can lean on it when you;re using it!
Regards,
Jake
