Belt hardware
« on: April 11, 2012, 02:16:10 PM »
I'm wanting to make a 1872 Pattern Cavalry waist belt. Does anyone know where I can find the brass hardware? I found the rear brass loops at S&S, but I'm having difficulty locating the 2 front loops that flank the buckle.   ???
A lot of what is taken for engineering fact, if you dig into it far enough, is often just someone's opinion.

You might google S & S Firearms as well.  They carry quite a few period fittings, etc. including the brass and lead acorn studs like you use on Civil War cartridge and cap boxes.  If I remember, they have quite a few Indian War misc. accouterment hardware as well.  You can download their catalog. Dave should have what you need though.
