How may have you have noticed this?  When you mention that you do CAS to folks, the usual first question is:  "Oh....do you do the fast draw thing?"  Or:  "Oh!  Do you fan your pistol?"  I've had this asked me on many occasions from those who don't know.  How many of you have had this?

Really few ask that.  Most folks seem to have seen CAS on TV and are impressed by the
outfits we wear and the old gunz.  I always invite them to the next shoot.

There's a few people out there that don't know CAS, or understand what we do.  When you mention it, their minds automatically snap to the old Hollywood movies about quick drawing and fanning and they think that's how the Old West really was and they automatically presume that's what we do.  Hollyrude sorta took away the reality of the Old West.

I've also had people ask me:  "Are you the folks that put on those Old West gunfights for tourists?"

Yep. Some have asked if I was a quick draw. Nope! Slower than molasses. Some ask if I do re-enactments.

Yep, been asked many times about the quick draw thing.  I tell them the only thing I'm fast at is getting to the bathroom! Now, getting off those cowboy clothes, that's where I lose time on the clock!
