Lots of SASS affiliated clubs in SC and NC.  Check it out http://www.carolinacowboys.us/

Joe,  If you'd like to dabble in NCOWS, please contact me.  We have a match on 4/29 in the Columbia area.  The Geechee Gunfighters are a SASS group in your area.

Thank you all for the feedback. I got a  uberti 1873 rifle as a gift and got me interested. Okifinokee Outlaw, that sounds very interesting, I'd like to learn more about the NCOWS.

Okefinokee Outlaw and his crew are good folk.  Some of my Texas pards have traveled out and shot an NCOWS match with them.  They raved about the quality of the match and the people.

Joe, if you need a little intro into NCOWS, my home club (in Texas)  has some info on our web site for newbies to NCOWS.  It might give you a little background on our side of western action shooting.

Joe

One of the Categories , We (NCOWS) offer is Working Cowboy ( it is also perhaps our more popular)
Here your 73 rifle and 1 pistol are the only guns you'll need.
You don't use gun cart , simple saddlebag or even a poke of some sort to carry your ammo.

I plan attending the SC shoot, and shooting WC as I did last year.
