The way I understand it is....the picture of the Longbranch is a replica of the original and it's not in the original place on Front Street.  I had a friend in high school that grew up in Dodge.  He said all the original buildings were gone, but they had done a replica in another location.  I have another friend that grew up in Tombstone.  He said the worst thing they did there was to pave the street.

Rap, I believe that replica of Front Street is at the base of the original Boot Hill. The original buildings were destroyed by fire, maybe in the 20's, if not earlier. It's kind of a western thing, business districts destroyed by fire, I think. Tombstone had at least two fires by 1885. The building materials used combines with oil lamps and wood stoves almost preordained the hazzards of fire.......Buck 8) ::) :o ;) :-\
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

I used to work with a guy that grew up in Tombstone.  He told me that up until the mid 50's, or early 60's the main street of Tombstone was dirt...like it was back in the glory days.  He said it ruined the whole scene when they paved it.  I've been to Tombstone several times and I agree.  You still have the old, original buildings sitting on a paved street.  Somehow...that just doesn't seem right.

Oh good heavens yes!  I helped build the original one!

I was born about a million years ago....
And there's not a thing in the world that I don't know!
I saw Peter, Paul and Moses.....playing ring around the roses....
And I'll whup the man who says it isn't so!

Queen Elizabeth, she fell in love with me!
We were married in Milwaukee secretly.
But I got tired and shook her...And ran off with General Hooker...
To go shootin' skeeters down in Tennessee!

I knew it all along. You're actually a space alien sent to Earth to keep track of our lack of progress for the gallactic empire.
