Is the Shot Pistol project dead?
« on: November 03, 2011, 08:34:56 PM »
I was just perusing the USFA web site and couldn't help but notice that there is no longer any reference to the Shot Pistol.  Out of curiosity, I tried going to their other web site, shotpistol.com, and it automatically took me right back to the USFA web site.  Is it time to add the Shot Pistol to USFA's growing list of ill-fated projects?  I hope so!  Maybe now they will get back to doing what the do best - producing the finest SAA's available today.  I, for one, would be glad to see them once again filling orders for SAA's in a timely manner.

Follow up:  Rats!  Googled "USFA shot pistol" and the web site is still there.  Never mind...

I surely hope not.....Not that I care for the shot pistol itself.

but it would make one wonder "WHO's stearing the ship !"

Deadeye,
Someone on one of the other handgun forums quoted a price of $899.  Don't know if they were referring to MSRP or a dealer price.
I'm still a bit puzzled over USFA's decision to manufacture these guns without a loading gate.  I'm sure there must have been some logical reason behind it (at least I hope there was a logical reason).  Anyone have an idea as to what it might have been?

I certainly wouldn't miss the Shot pistol either.
A work in progress.

re lack of gate -

a forum thread i read a while ago offered this:

This pistol was designed without a loading gate, when hammer is all the way down or fully cocked rounds can't fall out. Without the gate getting in the way reloads can be faster.
