OT: Grumpy Lunch Bunch

A small but growing group of CAS types have been gathering on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 11:00 am for lunch.  We shift places frequently to protect the innocent, but it’ll always be within 20 miles or so of Ontario International Airport.

The only agenda is to meet other like-minded folks, share stories, enjoy each other’s company, eat mediocre modestly priced food, and suffer varying degrees of service.  Mostly it’s just a fun thing to do.

Today we had thirteen people scheduled to get together, nine showed up.  Good time all around.

The next gathering is scheduled for September the 1st at a place yet to be determined.

If you want to join us, get in touch with me and let me know.  We aren’t screening anyone, but we need to know how a place to find.  I figure if we get over a hundred we may have trouble getting adequate seating.

Ya, on the way home got to thinkin, one of my staff always worries about the trains (track is about 75feet from my office) and here we almost get hit by a plane. gotta say that pliots seem to try not to hit occupiied areas. He put it in a field this time. But some of our buildings have 30-35 patients so could have been a diaster...

Hey Rod, looks nice, this idea.   But from Amsterdam (The Netherlands) is it a long way to go.  I think Lis do'nt let me go alone for such a long trip and for 2 it is a little expencive. So, next time your Bunch go, I'll remeber you.   Say Hello to your Wive.

Nope, this one's in California, 35 miles east of LA, 19 miles west of Sam Bernardino.

It ain't hell, but I can pitch a rock over their fence from here. (Actually, it ain't half bad.)

Ok, Ok!  I just gotta poke the bear.  Is this a bunch that has a grumpy lunch, or a grumpy bunch that has lunch!?!?  Guess I'm just gonna have to drive down there and grump some for myself.

If'n ya want i could set up "Delmonico's West" the hell on whells kitchen up in my back yard, let me know how many and how much ya want to spend and if'n it don't rain we'll be fine.   

Five bucks could put a decent meal out, ten bucks would be a feast and at 15-20 there would be few surviviors.  Heck GG could take a vacation day and do the dessert.   

I'm out of fire wood, but if we feed the neighbor Wayne he'd let me raid his wood pile.

Hairy Beast, they ain't nobody grumpy at these lunchess. 

Even if the food and service stunk on ice, we'd still let our hair down and be cheerful. 

Even if the prices were a bit higher than anticipated, we'd smile through. 

Even if a host of liberal agitators showed up to spoil our day, we'd laughnb our butts off...as we hung 'em all from a handy tree or lamp post.

Old Scout came up with the phrase, but it ain't the name of the group...yet. 

If we had any officers, or anybody in charge, or a constitution or bylaws, or if any of us knew anything about parliamentary procedure, or if anyone gave a hoot, we could maybe vote on it.

You can hold your breath if you wanna, but you're gonna get mighty light headed.

Ain't nothing wrong with our Canadian pards that a few weeks in a warmer clime wouildn't cure.

C'mon down.  We'll treat y'all like family.  No reason you shouldn't get picked on, insulted, grumped at, and made to feel silly like the rest of us.  You can go to lunch with the new bunch and just to make you feel welcome, we'll let you buy your own meal.
