What Type of Loctite for Sites?
« on: October 02, 2011, 08:08:19 AM »
Hi,

It has been suggested for site placement to use Loctite on the site bases.

Is there any feelings/thoughts about which form of Loctite (or any other product) to use?

Thanks!

I don't use Loc-Tire in any thing like that anymore, I use teflon plumbers tape.  Holds as good and much easier to remove from the screw when you need to.  Also it don't make as big a mess in the shooting box if it comes open.

I believe "Blue" Loctite is officially referred to as No. "242" Threadlocker.

Major 2,

Thanks! I own the front site now, but will not be ordering the rear site until after Christmas ... so I am guessing if I ordered it now it would dry out by that time. But now that I know what I am looking for, I will find our who carries it  and that will be one less thing to find when I order the rear site ....
