Manhattan Navy model

My first period firearm. All numbers matching,5" barrel and locks up tight. Been fighting the urge to put a few rounds down range.

That's a Sweetie !  I wouldnt hesitate to put it thru the paces...pistols are meant to shoot if they are in good condition such as yours. 15 -18 gr of 3 fff should do ya jest Fine. It's really nice to shoot the smaller calibers and git away from the Big BOOMERS once in a while.

Well,I was under the impression the "normal" load for a .36 was 15 gr. If I did put the 'ol girl thru her paces it would probably be with about 12-13 grs. I'm tempted.

I got into C&B pistols when I was about 14.....and gave the bug to a couple of my friends. We built some of our revolvers from kits. One of my buddies Dad surprised him with a Manhattan revolver. It was in wonderful condition, .36 caliber, 6" octagon barrel and looked much like a Colt Navy. It shot well, too  ;)

We used the same load as in our Italian .36's - about 18 grains under a RB.

hint-hint.

I purchased it off of gunsamerica.com and from the pics I was expecting a '51 navy clone as they look so much alike. Wasn't really prepared for the 3/4 sized version. I already have trouble gettin' my big mits around a colt grip.
