Shotgun: I've been loading 6.0 grains of Red Dot in 45 Colt since March of '91. Burns clean, gives approx the fps your looking for, and is very accurate in my two 45's, a Ruger 5.5" OM Vaquero and a 7.5" Eruoarms Dakota. I've played with loading up and down the scale one to a half grain, but settled in on 6.0. A note, I've always used 250-255 grain cast lead bullets in the loadings, I do have a RCBS 230 CB mold, but yet to cast any with it. A friend turned me on to the 6.0 grains and he was equally happy with it. I've even used Red Dot for moderate loadings in 8mm, .303 Brit, and 30/06 cast loadings. Used a 13.0-13.5 grain charge. Got this out of an article some years ago in the American Rifleman. Crow Choker
