.44 Colt and ... ?

I just purchased a Colt 1872 Open Top in .44 Colt and was wondering if any other cartridges are compatible with this chambering.  For example, I've heard you can fire .45 Schofield through a .45 Colt, or a .38 Special through a .357 Magnum, but is there a similar situtation with the .44 Colt?  Thanks for your help, pards!

You can shoot .44 Russian in it too.

By the way, I've been searchin' the Net, and cannot find the dimensions of either the bullet or cartridge case for the .44 Colt round.  As I haven't gotten around to picking up a new reloading manual with the information in it, does any one know?  Or can they point me to a resource on the Net?  Thanks again.
