Rossi 92 spare parts kit
« on: February 13, 2011, 09:52:37 AM »
Ive got a Rossi 92 in 45 Colt on it's way.

Does anyone have suggestions as to what spare parts I want to have on hand? That would include both the things that might break or wear out but also the things that might fly off during disassembly and never be seen again.

Is Rossi direct the best source of parts or are there other options for getting parts?

...the things that might fly off during disassembly and never be seen again.

The ejector assembly is notorious on 92's, and if you're going to lose something it's the ejector collar. It's a tiny metal tube, and if it goes flying then good luck...

The ejector spring can go flying as well, but that's quite a bit larger.

Also, if you don't take the precaution of pinning the hammer spring, that can go flying as well. I just use a push pin as described here (see step #2) but in any case that's too big to lose.

I got my kit today from Steve and set it up. Took me about 2 hours but worked out well. As for spare parts I would say the main spring, extractor spring would pretty much cover it after Steve's kit is installed.
