Anyone interested in the Barnes X bullets?
« on: November 18, 2010, 01:32:09 PM »
We've been using thim since the early 90's, perhaps more bullet than is needed most times, but since they have exited every time except for 3 frontal chest shots (well over a 100 deer) they are worth the extra cost since exit holes leave very good bllod trails and we hunt right on the edge of some dang thick cover at times.

No dead deer pictures here, they simply cut a hole very similar to a 3 bladed broadhead.

Broth shot a scrub buck to get rid of it at about 50 yards broadside with the 130's in a 270, never been cronoed, but should be around 2800 fps.

Anyway this is what it did to the plum thicket behind it, the deer lost it's heart and parts of both lung, plus a rib.  Kept walking a few steps and gave it up.

Thought some of you might be interested in the pictures.

My hunting loaded some for his 25-06 this year but hasn't used one on a deer yet.
