SAA Hammer Mod's

I would like to see and hear about any hammer modifications you have made to your Colt SAA's or if it's been done to guns that were already changed before you received them. Links to sites with info would be great also. Thanks ahead of time, Randy.

Howdy

I like the hammers on my Colts just the way they came from the factory.

Well, that's not quite true, one of them needed the full cock notch recut, and Happy Trails did that for me. But as far as the profile of the hammer is concerned, I think they pretty much got it right back in 1873.
That’s bad business! How long do you think I’d stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he’d pay me that much to stop robbing him, I’d stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

I had my new Colts' hammers color case-hardened - that's all.

Run 'n Iron did the work, and the colors are just as they should be.
