Did anybody get a picture of the long range targets? I realized that I hadn't but by then the wind had blown the paper off. I was hoping to give an idea of the distance we were shooting.

I think I have some on the computor at home, I still have a lot of them to work with.

Am I in any pictures when I'm not eating?  The food was top notch and so was the rest of the muster.
It was so good to step back in time (sort of) and decompress for the weekend.
This is one event I don't want to miss next year.

I was wrong, I don't have any.

I checked. I don't either.

Well I have a few more, then I think I'm done:

The shade I rigged up with my tarp and plank chairs:

A Upright Prairie Coneflower Ratibida columnifera also sometimes called a Mexican Hat:

An old store in Westerville, south of Sargent:

I got mixed up, and thought it was West Union a more defuct town, that Butcher took some pictures in, no matter a cool building.

And a shot on the go near Loup City on Highway 92.

Glen,
That old store building is in Westerville, isn't it?  It sure looks familiar.

Yep, I got West Union and Westerville mixed up, thought I was taking pictures of a store the Solomon Butcher did also.  No matter, still a neat picture.  BTW is there anything left where West Union was?

There's still a good chance that Butcher photographed it too. I have some good friends who live near Westerville who own the land where his (G?)-Great-Grandparents had a photo taken in front of their soddy. In fact when the documentary on Butcher was made they Had Scott and Denice reinact the photo setting in the same place.

As for West Union, the cemetery is still there. Other than that it's gone...unless 1 or 2 buildings are part of somebody's farmstead. I can show you the general area where it was. I can also show you a few other ghost towns. And Butcher's grave. You might have to make a weekend of it sometime.

I got a care package from Dutch Henry (Tom Snow) the other day that contained, among other things, a photo CD. (Thanks Tom) It was difficult, but I narrowed the photos down to the best 20 to post below.

I would love to sometime.  If Butcher took ones of the stores there, they were lamong those lost in his fire.

I'm still looking through mine in case I missed something.  I did find something interesting.  We had a front go through on Friday night and two storms went by us, one north, one south both 75 or more miles away.  I was watching the north storm, a friend called me from Texas and gave me some info and then I got limited doppler on my phone.  I stayed up till I was sure it would go by us safely, it did some wierd turns and such.  Anyway I need a better camera, I shot at some really strange lightning off to the north, hard sometime with a digital camera.

Anyway not 100% sure, still need a friend to look these two pictures over, but I think I got the top of one of the two tornados that touched down in SD to the NE about a 100 miles away.  Times are right and the pictures look right to me.

and the enhanced B&W

I'm still looking over things on it, had forgot about them till now.

And after a look, here's the doppler loop from that day, if this is the top of a tornado it would be in the dark red stuff about 10-11 pm and up where the Missouri River makes the bend between where is says Gregory and Platte:
