my sone order a 1858 layman remmintion from cass city web but whwn we get it it shoots sweat but the cylinder wont drop out is ther a trick to removing the cylinder we thought you drop loading ram and pull the retaner pin but it ant worker the cylinder spins well but thr pins not coming out whats thr secerat???

Also need to have the hammer on halfcock, so the hammer nose and bolt are clear of the cylinder.

The Remington also fouls up easy when shooting real black powder.  If it is all fouled up, removing the cylinder becomes a lot more difficult.

What I do on mine:
Open the loading lever.
Pull the cylinder pin towards the muzzle.
Pull the hammer to half cock, while at the same time, rolling the cylinder out of the frame.
Put it back in by reversing the steps to take it out.
